We had to cancel our Wednesday dive this week due to weather, or rather the lack of motivation caused by the weather, but I did have two lovely dives at Moulds Bay last weekend so I haven't dried up quite yet. Jer and I went over to Quadra for a "Divemasters Only!" dive (because no one else wanted to come) and we had several missions while we were there:

After a short hiatus out of the water, I finally got back in. Sweet mother of Neptune it was cold. Winter diving really is here and I really need to accept this and figure out how to stay warm for the next few months.

A few years ago I was driving around the states with a few friends and we passed through Las Vegas. We spent a grand total of 3 hours in the city I think, most of which was spent sitting in traffic. Although I disagree with the fundamental existance of a ridiculous city in the middle of the desert, I must say, those 3 hours were some of the best people watching of my life.

A customer without any previous knowledge of, or experience with scuba gear will come into the shop looking for a mask, snorkel and fins set for casual use and first thing they notice is the vast price difference between, say, the Aqualung Sport masks+snorkel and the Hollis masks. Of course they want to know why a mask and snorkel set is $30-$40 while just a mask is $85-$130 and so far my answers probably sound fumbley and uninformed at best.Read Full Post »
