Vancouver Island Diving Done right

UB Diving is a full-spectrum Vancouver Island cold-water diving operation built around real Pacific Northwest experience. We support divers through professional training, expedition charters, equipment sales and service, technical diving, rebreather support, underwater photography logistics, commercial diving, and marine operations throughout British Columbia.

This is not a resort-style dive shop trying to imitate cold-water diving. UB Diving was built in it, works in it, teaches in it, services equipment for it, and runs boats through it.

Training, charters, service, sales, and marine operations all support one standard: real cold-water diving capability.

The Local Boat Advantage

UB Diving is the only dive shop in the Courtenay and Comox Valley region operating dedicated dive boats for local scuba training, charters, and expedition operations.

That matters. Students and divers can access local sites by boat instead of losing time and money to long-distance shore diving logistics. Less driving, less hauling gear, less wasted day - more actual diving.

Our vessels, Good Vibrations and Skydiver, are serious Pacific Northwest dive platforms with heated cabins, onboard toilets, diver lifts, local training capability, expedition range, and layouts built specifically around cold-water scuba operations.

Good Vibrations

Custom expedition dive platform for Port Hardy, Browning Pass, God's Pocket Marine Park, Nakwakto Rapids, Nanaimo wrecks, technical diving, and underwater photography support.

Skydiver

Local training and dive support vessel providing practical access to Vancouver Island cold-water training sites without unnecessary shore-diving logistics.

Built For Divers

Heated cabins, onboard toilets, diver lifts, gear handling space, and cold-water layouts designed for real Pacific Northwest scuba diving.

Built On Real Operational Experience

UB Diving is led by Sean Smyrichinsky, a professional mariner, commercial diver, dive supervisor, rebreather diver, and long-time Vancouver Island diving professional with decades of real-world operational experience throughout British Columbia.

Our instructors and operational team bring practical experience influenced by commercial diving, expedition work, technical diving, military search and rescue environments, and mentorship from world-renowned rebreather instructor Dr. Mel Clark.

That background shapes how we teach, how we run boats, how we service equipment, and how we plan dives in real Pacific Northwest conditions.

From First Breath To Professional-Level Development

UB Diving trains divers from beginner scuba through advanced cold-water development, drysuit diving, technical progression, rebreather support, expedition readiness, and pre-commercial diving school preparation.

Our goal is not to rush students through the minimum. Our goal is to build capable divers who understand equipment, buoyancy, conditions, situational awareness, marine judgment, and cold-water discipline.

No fluff. No shortcuts. Real diving skills for real ocean conditions.
