God’s Pocket Marine Park
God’s Pocket Marine Park lies just offshore from Port Hardy and is located where powerful tidal exchanges push nutrient-rich water through the surrounding passages. These strong currents fuel explosive marine growth across the reefs and vertical rock walls of the area.
The result is one of the most colorful and life-filled underwater environments in British Columbia.
Walls and boulder fields are covered with plumose anemones, soft corals, sponges, and hydrocorals. Large schools of rockfish move along the reefs while lingcod, wolf eels, and giant Pacific octopus inhabit the cracks and ledges of the rocky terrain.
For divers seeking world-class cold-water diving, God’s Pocket Marine Park is a destination that consistently delivers unforgettable underwater experiences.
The End of the Line Pass
Port Hardy is often described as the end of the road on Vancouver Island. Beyond this point the coastline becomes wild, remote, and shaped by the immense tidal energy of the Pacific Ocean.
The surrounding passages funnel powerful currents that bring life to the reefs and walls throughout the region. These conditions create the vibrant marine ecosystems that make the Port Hardy area one of the most exciting diving destinations in the North Pacific.
