COOLIO'S DREAM

A Hidden Biodiversity Reef

Coolio's Dream is one of the hidden underwater treasures of the God's Pocket region near Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island. It is not a single-feature dive. It is a full reef environment where structure, current, colour and marine life combine into one dense cold-water scene.

The site features giant plumose anemones, steep reef structure, colourful marine growth, rockfish, nudibranchs, lingcod, decorator crabs, giant green anemones and the kind of Pacific biodiversity that makes northern Vancouver Island diving famous.

During stronger tidal movement, the reef can feel almost suspended in motion as clouds of marine life drift through the structure and the anemones bend with the passing water. During calmer visibility windows, sections of reef slowly appear through green water, revealing layers of life that were hidden only moments earlier.

Many divers remember Coolio's Dream not because of one single animal encounter, but because the entire reef feels densely occupied, textured and alive from the first descent to the final ascent.
